Working together for jobs and competitiveness

[Our action]

Initiate initiatives, negotiate agreements, facilitate decision-making.

  • Through a network of partners, we drive national and regional initiatives that contribute to the development of the industry.

  • Through social dialogue, we negotiate with trade unions to create the most favourable social environment for business development.

  • Through lobbying actions, we are working to ensure that the legislative and regulatory framework enables industrial companies to address their current challenges.

  • Through our mandates, we represent the interests of the industry and the interprofessional sector on behalf of companies.

The success of industry in France is a collective challenge. It’s up to us to work together to make it a reality.

[Committed to working together]

We work with our partners in many areas to meet the needs of our member companies: recruitment, promoting the attractiveness and diversity of careers in industry, career guidance, job retention, contributing to debates and discussions, and more.

For example:

  • We are committed to working alongside France Travail and APEC to address the skills challenge in industry.
  • As a partner of the ‘Elles Bougent’ Association, we are committed to promoting the recruitment and success of female talent in the industry.
  • We support La Fabrique de l’Industrie, an independent think tank created in 2011 on the joint initiative of UIMM and France Industrie to promote and advance thinking on industrial issues.
  • We are partners with the CNAM’s Occupational Risk Department. As such, the new National Objectives Agreement (CNO) relating to metallurgy activities and automotive services under the National Technical Committee for Metallurgy (CTNA) was signed on 16 August 2023 by UIMM. Effective from 1 September 2023 for a period of four years, it allows companies with fewer than 200 employees to benefit from ‘prevention contracts’ offered by their CARSAT. These contracts aim to finance measures to control and reduce certain occupational risks. This agreement covers all risk codes related to the profession.
